“You're On the Air! Part I”

Discover how to put your voice to work and get paid for talking. Announcing for commercials, animated films and narrations can be extremely lucrative. We will look at the industry opportunities and discuss what it takes to become successful. You'll learn how to market and package yourself, discuss the all-important "demo tape" and find out what skills are needed to become a talent at voice-overs.

Meet one Wednesday evening from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm on the UT campus.

 


“You're On the Air! Part II”

This is a practical twelve-hour course in voice-acting designed to give you a sampling of the techniques used in voice-acting for animation films, radio commercials and corporate narration techniques. The workshop is taught in a professional sound studio using state of the art audio equipment, thus giving you a "real life" situation to learn your craft.

Meet four Tuesday evenings from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Production Block Studios.

 


“Character Building”


Available through VoiceWorks.
Radio is often called "theatre of the mind". The voice actor's job is to paint a specific picture for the audience. This practical twelve-hour course in voice-acting for radio commercials explores developing believable characers, playing off a partner, creating a real announcer, auditioning and the next step in developing a demo tape and getting an agent.

Meet four Tuesday evenings from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Production Block Studios.

 


“Going the Distance in Narrations”


Available through VoiceWorks.
Corporate narrations include everything from sales tapes to training tapes. The voice-actor's purpose is to inform in an effective manner appropriate to the subject matter. This practical twelve-hour course in voice-acting for corporate narrations explores going the distance in corporate narrations, developing a believable read, punch-in editing, keeping a consistent pace and the next step in developing a demo tape and getting an agent.
